Where do you all think that the next world record pumpkin will come from if you had to guess? What are your best bets?
My top six:
1) 2009 Wallace-Safest Bet! Grew a world record and one even bigger than that in its first year out. I have a hunch many more will be grown this year compared to last year.
2) 2032 Mathison-It's save to say that this one will be planted a lot, which would increase the odds of it producing a new record.
3) 1985 Miller-Another seed that will see a lot of dirt, thus increasing its odds.
4) 220 DeBacco (Snowball)-Hard to pass on something with prior world record breaking pollen, 1725, and 2009 genetics in it.
5) 1791 Holland-Dream Cross! With both 1495 and 2009 genetics you would have to like the heavy and big potential from this one. I would rate it much higher if this pumpkin contained more seeds.
6) 1789 Wallace-A Real Sleeper! Already produced a 1/2 dozen 1,500 pounders in only a few years. It seems to be on track to be up there with the best of them as far as how many 1,000 plus pound pumpkins it will end up producing before too much longer.

My 1894 Mathison is looking like the kind of plant and fruit that could have a shot at something great.

The 1985 Miller is a hardy and fast growing plant & fruit. I think that this will be the seed to consider!

Chris, some of the younger people reading that haven't a clue what that was. In honesty, Vegas odds would have California so ill say Cali 2 years in a row.

Your a smart man Luke, the Calif. weather has been exceptionally nice lately. Although let's not forget Cecil's & Ian's teams, they are also looking quite good. By- the -way Luke & Chris, if George shows up for a little historical trip, I'll let you know.
