This pumpkin is nearing 20 days old and is developing some odd bumps under the skin, I haven't encountered this before. I'm not sure if it's a unique characteristic or a disease issue. Has anyone else seen this before?

Yep, it's been covered since a few days after pollination. I don't know of anything that has gotten on the skin, but I wouldn't say that it's impossible that something has.

If it's not a disease issue it's going to be fun to see what happens.

Ned, I've been rubbing Clearasil on it for a week, how long does it take for this stuff to work?

Hi Pa;
I had this before on my 993 V/M Plant in 2012;
all those bumps will turn dark brown, then in time they will
disappear, the pumpkin turned a nice orange;
I talked to a couple veteran growers; they both said
it was a fungus in the seed when you planted it, http://bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=191784

I have more pictures but if you want I will send it to you by personal email; hope this helps

Thanks for the info OLD-ROOKIE. If you don't mind email me those pics when you get a chance, I'd like to see them. Your 993 turned out to be a great looking pumpkin!
