About five days ago, I found a leaf covered with aphids. I pulled off the leaf, and sprayed the plant (300 square feet) with one gallon of water and two fl. Oz. Of neem oil. Then, today, I came back and found that there were several leaves covered completely in aphids. What do I do? Thanks.

non organic method, spray with merit, will wipe them out. Organic method, use organicide, it is a contact spray that burns them up, you have to do it often with a huge break out. I have a lot of them too, they come fast and this year seems to be way worse than normal at my patch.

Yes, I went out to investigate, and it is amazing how two days is enough for that many aphids to come out of nowhere. The bottoms of some of my leaves are black, just to get a perspective of how bad it is. Thanks.

Get them now with Merit or you are going to have a BIG problem.

I will ise some bayer tree and shrub, as it contains the same active ingredient as merit, and I just happen to have some on hand, whereas it would take merit at least a week to ship. How do you apply tree and shrub on a pumpkin? Obviously, it only has instructions for, well, trees and shrubs, but I am guessing that you would want to apply a bit less than it says to apply for a tree or shrub? Thanks.

I use bayer as a drench just around the stump and it works great.

I have found systemic is the only way to get rid of them. I wish it worked on groundhogs.

Ok, thanks. I used some bayer tree and shrub at the base of the plant, and I sprayed some 3 in 1. Are both of these products systemic? Neather seem to be listed as systemic. Thanks.
