I was wondering the same thing? Just because you pollenate a pumpkin that has seeds in the blossom to me doesn't mean it's deformed because of the seeds in the blossom. I've seen some pretty messed up pumpkins that come from perfect blossom!

Thad Starr grew a 1500+ pounder on a female with seeds in the blossom. I think that is an interesting stat.

Generally you are going to have a very thin blossom end when this occurs.

I have grown out a few of these flowers. The fruit will develop misshaped as the seed lobe has been deformed. The affected area can be sunken or depressed and result in a real ugly offspring.

I have one this year that had just a few seeds in the blossom. It's growing very slowly and showing signs of being deformed. Yea. (The next one out was pollinated on the 16th of July...)
