The main vine is rotten off at the top of the ground an killing the plants!!!! Can anyone tell me what is going on

We'll one of my plants died off from rottin vine. Not sure but I believe it is some sort of vine rot from the inside out. Only thing I can figure I got more rain this season and cool temps make constant moist soil. I could not find any bugs on this plant.
