Iv noticed 2 of my plants have very thin skinny side vines ..my 1894 and my 2032 but they are my largest size plants ( length and width) could this be to the crazy rain we have had? Or just genetics ...other plants seem like main and sides are thicker.....even leaves seem small compaired to my other plants....on my 1894 first couple sides are about 7 ft main is about 17ft.... Any opinions are appreciated thank you :)

I have 1894 also with several stunted sides and several thin slow growers. The main is over 30 feet and 8 sides on each side have been dead-ended. Kin set at 13 ft. 65 lbs. @ 16 days. Crossed with 1813 Northrup. 6" of rain last week didn't help. The plant has recovered and new sides appear normal.

Both 1894 and 2032 are Mathison's correct. Must be the California genetics.

Cweibz,
No insults received. Don't sweat it, just having some fun with Steveopp I'm growing one of those seeds myself and it's looking good. Keep working with them, they will produce good fruit, they are of good stock. And yes, Tim is a generous fellow grower.
Wishing you a successful season.

My 1874 matheson isnt a big plant. It has good vigor . I'm also wondering if it can grow a slunger on a smallish frame. It has a 9 D.O. fruit set on main
