I was testing my 4th of July fireworks extravaganza system when I accidentally ignited a squib and had a shower of smoke and sparks bombing my patch. My pumpkin was covered in powder, which I washed off almost immediately. Later after burying some vines I noticed that I have what appears to be burn marks all over my pumpkin and leaves. The pumpkin grew over night so I haven't killed it. It's my only pollinated pumpkin so I would hate to pull it. Is there anything I could rub on my pumpkin or and leaves for the burns?

Nope...apply a fungicide and some kelp. Chalk it up as a lesson learned

Agree with Linus. With all the stuff we light off, I'm surprised this has never happened to me before

Haven't been here much lately
got to say this is one of the funniest things I have read for a while. Not laughing at you Frankie, but with you. My son (40 years old) loves fireworks. On the big summer family weekend here each year one of the highlights, for the guys and kids, is blowing up a few of the small pumpkin culls. I haven't space to go into details but let's just say not all are amused.
There was the year I had to spend the day after everyone went come washing the pumpkin shards off the roof.
Like Linus said, fungicide. Good luck.

A day later and I'm able to laugh it off. Just a little. Wife says I was lucky I'm not the one that got fireworks on me.

Not sure I understand the comment about it being "an all american move". The good ole USA seems to be kicking butt these days when it comes to giant pumpkin growing.
