Farming- a bunch of catastrophies that result in a lifestyle

All 7 stumps have quit leaking, no more rotting of stump surface. I have pared them to good wood over the course of 3 days, they have been repeatedly cleaned with hydrogen peroxide, then doused/packed with sulfur and copper powder mix. I have 3 holes drilled in all 7. 4 of them have fans (all the fans/outlets/cords I have available) all of them are covered to keep stump area dry. All of them get a small slice off two secondary's morning and night to help with draining. None of the 7 kins show/showed a in weight gains, and continue to grow at above normal gains daily.
At moment we are dry, and soil is on dry side, however, mother nature is going to be slinging us some heavy rain towards the end of the week, and also possibly a tropical depression.
Any suggestions in addition to what I have listed above?
Should I start now getting the soil moisture up instead of 'all at once' when the weather goes to crap?

build a makeshift tent over them with tarps? It would at least keep the stump and the area around it dry.

just cover when watering and when chance of rain and uncover when sunny and dry. I use a cut off piece from a 40 gallon drum (about 1 foot high with a slot at the bottom to let main get through). With this you can get inches of rain and still have a dry stump. Works great!!
