Hi, everyone, we just got contacted by Martha Stewart Magazine again. They are interested in getting some pumpkins from us for a photo shoot in mid-July. We are growing some Japanese Black Futsu pumpkins they may like, but we put them in fairly recently. Some are set and getting over a foot across already but some are just setting now. I have been using mushroom compost, manure tea, and mycorrhiza fungi in the soil, as well as gypsum and some kelp spray on the leaves, all of which seem to be making them grow well. Does anyone have any suggestions about ways to safely boost growth so they do not burn out or blow up but they will be ready for mid-July? Would increasing day length by adding light at night be a good idea? What might be the best foliar sprays and fertilizers? Should I do a milk spray to protect the leaves? And water under the leaves to encourage extra roots to grow? Thanks for any ideas and suggestions about this.

Bury the vines at each node and with the Mycos, roots should be good. Milk will help with powdery mildew, but I would try Organocide as well since it is a miticide, fungicide and insecticide in one and organic. I'd stop using compost now. Maybe get a fish\seaweed foliar like Neptunes and move to a higher K spray when get something set.
