I have only seen a couple of pictures of foaming stump. If your stump looks warty or bubbly is that the first indication of a foaming stump?

Liquid coming out near the stump area is a sure sign.

a wet ring around the base stump while all other areas in immediate area of stump are dry is a sure sign as well.

The pics from my diary are up. Can you tell from the pics if the stump looks like it is going to foam up? Thanks for any help

The warty parts or tumor like out- growth I don't think are and indication. The wet ring however is. If its not raining excessively, maybe cut down the watering especially around you stump area, and keep it protected from rain. Keep it dry in about a 3 foot circle around the stump. No garantuees though! Good luck.
