I haven't been reading many grower diaries this year so I don't really know how everyone's season is going so far.
It would be great if everyone could post a quick little update on what plants they are growing and how they big they are at the moment. Thanks!

I'm not allowed to post currently it would be filled with too many fowl words unless we are talking about the watermelons

Plants are finally going good. Glad the stumps are in raised beds. Ten inches of rain a month since April. Hoping for early July pollination. Planted my giant tomatoes today, about a month late. Two went in earth buckets just for kicks.

Having a few struggles like everyone I'm sure but just starting to take off nice:)
Things change weekly but for now, the 1676 Daletas is the front runner.

I lost a few early to corn maggots and wind damage but the 31 plants I have in the ground now are the best I've had in my nearly 30 years of growing.
It was a wet spring and remains cool, especially nights, but most vines are about 8 feet.
Best now are 1813 Northrup, 1791 Holland, 1208 Kibler, 1295 Bailey, 1327 Rea, 979 McMillan and a number of my (Swain) 1049.

Lost one pumpkin to disease and wing, fighting a ribbon vine on another, having excessive rain and a hail storm 5 days ago and the pigweeds are going crazy. Still the pumpkins and long gourds are doing fairly well. Rabbits have been wiping out my peppers and sunflowers and nibbling the gourds; they are in danger of contracting lead poisoning. But no insects are showing up yet.

I have an 8 DAP on my 1674 Marsh and one set on my 1813 that looks to have taken. I'm pleased for now.

Plant is growing OK(nothing more than OK). Lots of male flowers but no female to be seen yet. How long does it normally take for the female flowers to show up?
