I have 3 plants in my small 20x20 patch. My best plant (or was my best plant) Has vined out about 6 feet, but the main vine has broken off or been chewed off or something. My other 2 plants are substantially smaller and the main vine is only about 2 feet long on each. Is my Big plant ruined?

If your set on keeping your bigger plant use a side vine to take over for the main :) or depending how you have your patch set up you could keep another and try the flag pattern :)

And depending on how big you want to grow, you could have two, 200 sq feet plants and grow 500+ pounds each. If you want 1K plus, I'd take the strongest of the little guys and fill the 400 with just one plant. Going with just one plant is risky. I did it the past two years and it sucks since every problem could compromise your entire season.
Lots of options, that's just my 2 cents.

Assuming all 3 plants are of equal value/ potential genetically, and that the two smaller plants are behind because they were started later, I would pull the plant with the broken main vine.
