Hi,

The last few days I noticed the leaves of my plant are being bitten. Rather big chunks of leaves are bitten away.

Anyone knows wich animal this could be? Cat? Dog? ...?
And what can I do about it?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Or maybe rabbits? There are some running around the neighbourhood.

But I would think rabbits wouldn't bite this big chunks out of a leave.

And is there something to scare rabbits away?

I think rabbits tend to chew through the stem letting the plants part fall off , then they eat it. If its a small stem it can look like its been cut off with a knife.

Deer don't live over here.

The chunks taken out of the leaves are too big for birds and they would leave the parts of the plant behind, no?

I already put some onion and garlic in the ground because
I know that scares rabbits and cats away.

Linus is prob right. The holes grow 5x as the leaf grows.

Groundhogs usually bite off all the vine tips first then work on the leaves. Don't know if you have them in Belgium? They can ruin a plant in one day, believe me I know.

I had baby grackles hanging out in a plant one year. They like to peck from beneath. I had to quit feeding the birds so they moved their daycare. They made pretty good sized holes
