With over 5 inches of rain in the last 5 days my patch is saturated. Walking boards sink. Cardboard did not work. How would you get to the pumpkin short of a crane. Thinking field stone rocks and just leaving them for the season. Anybody?

Boards in shortest route. Once it dries out u can aerate the sunken spots by gently piercing with a pitchfork.

Put the field stones down, (flatter type ones) and lay board over them, then you only have a few compression points? Or maybe use cinder blocks instead of field stone?

Save the sheet of plywood to put under mill fabric after pollination is complete. I like a thinner exterior grade.
You can get it after returning an empty jug of Voo Doo Juice to Mark! LOL

Spence, get a 2x12x16. Might as well get a work out while you are out there. Wish I had that contraption Tom Cruise had in Mission Impossible, you could hover over field.

Put on the Muck boots and get it done. Stay away from the stump and rear secondary vines that are surely all roots by now. You will have time to go back and broadfork your soil at the tip of the plant where there are no roots yet when it dries out.
