Once you set your 'keeper' at what DAP do you cull the rest off and go with it? What's a decently safe DAP to say "it's going to stick'? At what point does having other kins down the line from the keeper start effecting the 'keepers' weight gains?

Day 20-ish. That should be pretty safe in most cases, and other (later) pollinations on the same vine should be 15 DAP or younger, and thus the won´t have grown too much and haven´t withdrawn too much of the juice which otherwise would have gone into your keeper.

There is no "safe" DAP. I'll usually assume one will stick after 15-20. But, 2 years in a row now, I have had one blow right out its back door by day 40 when I thought it was my keeper.

Start pollinating at the minimum distance you want your keeper to be. You can go with ones farther down the main only if need be. I wouldnt go past dap 10 if it were me.

If you have a pumpkin set(all on main vine) earlier than the keeper then 10 days max like MP says. If its the oldest it will starve off the next fruit or two-plenty of time there to cut the young ones off.
