How is the 2009 doing for those who are growing it? Mine is very slow so far but it is picking up now with a roughly 2-3 foot main.

Making all others look weak! An amazing plant so far and growing very different then I'm hearing from others. Saw a picture of a friends 2009 from up north this afternoon,,,,, sad, sad sight to say the least.
1284 Pingrey is right behind it though ;)

Mine is great, almost 9 foot with aggressive secondary's and a female in the main tip that should open around the 15th.

I grew two this year. By far and away they clearly are my biggest and fastest growing plants. It took a little while for them to get going, but eventually they really took off. The leaves are huge, vines are thick, and it is growing very rapidly. They also have ideal coloring too. All of my other plants have very proven genetics, but they don't even come close to the 2009's when it comes to passing the eye test. I'm actually set to pollinate tomorrow. I'm very curious to see how the fruit starts to develop growth rate wise.

Gary Miller told me the 2009 plant that grew his 1985 was nothing special so think twice before pulling it.

Wish I had one this year. Last year it was my slowest plant, but it finds another gear every month. Stayed that true green healthy look until October. A late pollination, in the middle of July cruised to 1463 pounds.
Don't think of pulling it.

I have a selfed version of it: Growing growing growing now has the 'keeper' (I hope) on it at DAP 4 and another female opening this morning.

My 2009 never got out of the seed coat. Seed shell was paper thin. Only seed not to germinate for me this year

We have two in our patch and both are doing very well. One is probably our best plant.

Doing Fabulous. One pumpkin already set and growing well The keeper at 15' should be ready to pollinate in 4-5 days.

The 2009 seed had a slow pollination process plus the seed shell had to be separated by hand to finish the germinating process and weak main root causing it the fall behind the other first choice seeds we planted . With a lot of TLC it is vining out nicely now and looks like it will do fine .
Might pollinate at 9 feet like the Harps did ....... will C
