i hawe a problem i hawe a reletevli smal garden rome for onli one plant hade a second for cros polination but it did not sorwiwe .so now i hawe a dilema cane i use the maile from the same plant or use a regular pumpckin and dos that efect the size. i wil not sawe the ceeds. thanks for the info

Use a male from the same plant (self pollination). Lots of growers do self pollinations, and some work out quit well. The 1725 Harp was self pollinated. Don't use pollen from a regular pumpkin. It is a different species and there is a good chance that it will not work.

Yes. Self pollinate it. If that's what you have work with . No one knows what that pumpkin will do until you bring it to the scale. BEST OF LUCK FOR YOU THIS SEASON! Make sure you post a diary. Any thing you grow is an accomplishment that you can be proud of because you put your heart and soul into it. This is my second year and hope to do well.

If you know anyone else growing these, they would probably loan you fresh pollen. The self pollinated pumpkin should also do fine. Just cover blossoms with cheesecloth or something a few days before flowers are ready and afterward, so insects and bees don't add some foreign pollen!
