June 6 is the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. My dad and thousands of others from many allied countries put their lives on the line. It was a tremendous act of necessity, courage and bravery. Gen. Eisenhower led the largest invasion in world history. Blood was spilled many times on the beach. Families were changed. The innocence of America and U.S. destiny was altered forever. Please pause and remember these gallant soldiers. We owe them so much. I often wonder, could we see such bravery and courage from modern Americans? I hope so! For all our political differences, the "greatest generation" proved we could put our partisan differences aside and unite for the good of all. Cooperation, not confrontation. Have we destroyed the American Dream those fellows preserved for our generation with the constant political bickering and animous we witness daily? Thank a veteran. Especially those who survived that war, that day, seven decades ago. BP
