I have noticed that a few of my secondary's on one of my plants seem messed up. They don't get longer then a few inches and just don't want to grow. This is only happening on a few, the rest are normal
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is going on with them.
Thanks, Ryan

Did you bury the leaf node too early?

Excessive Nitrogen? or getting burnt by the sun

Just curious but how much sun do you get daily?
This happens to me every year and the maximum amount of sun I get is 5 hours a day... After 1pm it's behind trees. It's like growing in a giant growing in a "cardboard box" of Oak Trees.
It's always random ones that just don't grow, I haven't added any ferts yet, barely have buried the vines due to time, so my only guess is little sun. They always pop later once I terminate the main or I break it again on accident.

Could be a lack of nitrogen.

The plant should snap out of it as it gets bigger and temps are consistently warmer. If not give it a little ca nitrate. A little goes a long ways

Speaking from past experience 4 years ago....I'd guess lack of Nitrogen. B ut even the last 2 years I had a couple stunted secondaries on both my plants in 2012 (my 1221*) and 2013 and I'm thinking over watering early on caused that ? Good luck.....

I have the same problems. 4 planting spots all treated the same, 1 plant that gets most sun is almost perfect. 2 others have good side vines on west side that gets afternoon sun and the 4th spot that's double planted loses the sun at 2 and the mains are at least 5 ft long and have ZERO good secondaries. The leaves are huge so I was thinking too much nitrogen. I just hope that I get some good secondaries so I can back fill

My leaves also become skyscrapers by late June pushing 3 feet tall on the main (due to lack of sun).
Chris,I wait till 8am to start drinking.
