I have a kin on my 1894 Mathison ready to pollinate in AM. It is out at 8 feet and the main is 12 ft. Is this too close to stump or just see what happens?

You'd have something like a 123 day old pumpkin for first sat in oct contest. And a 147ish day old fruit at halloween.

Personally, I would wait for the next one to get more plant infrastructure between the stump and the pumpkin.
