Please excuse my foolish questions, but it's been many years since i've been involved in growing the Ag's, but I do recall hearing of Talstar as a good chemical for the pesky wasp-like bugs that lay the eggs that turn into the vine borers. Is that still true? Also, do you just spray the liquid form or should you also spread the granules into the soil as well? Thanks for your help!

Ron, what kind of systemic do you recommend? Every time i've tried to grow the AG's in the past my biggest problem was the SVB. I would really like to eliminate that problem as much as possible. Thanks.

I SAW my first svb moth of the season today ...combo of merit(generic from ebay) as well as a strong contact pesticide(cypermethrin for me) weekly for minimum next 2 weeks making sure to get vines as well as tops and bottoms of leaves and they don't stand a chance I routinely see the moths dropping or at minimum floppy when they go to fly away as they always land on a leaf or two to hangout for a minute or two then play around in and under the foliage

I don't even know how many waves of them I actually get either, biloxi is same amount if not more, but when you see them make sure you already have merit in the plant and they hatch out in 7-10 days or so , so keep the contact on hand and spray it at pretty decent dose about 6 days from seeing the moths to make sure the contact is fresh to get any your weeklyy spray may have possibly missed(double safe)
