I wonder how many of us suffer from this horrible disease. POCD...better know as Pumpkin Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I can say, I had my first episode today. Not sure what the recommended treatment is but I did talk to my pumpkin therapist and I do feel better.
Anymore of us out there??

I'm a pumpkin grower, but I can change, if I have to, I guess. But not until I get that world record!!

This disorder is progressive. The only way to cure it is to let it run it's course. (Unless your wife is the boss, then you'll surely suffer withdrawls if you don't make the correct decision to give up one of them!)

Don´t try to treat this disorder with other seeds, it will be getting worse and worse.

The worst is yet to come. I know I can't be the only one that feels like He's shanking one of his kids when it comes time to cull off perfectly good plants for the better ones and normal healthy pollinations for the bigger ones..lol...IM SICK PEOPLE....LOL..

Girls with POCD have it easier, we don't get bitch slapped for crying when we have to kill the backup plant.

POCD does not discriminate in any way. Girls/Women do not have it easier...we get the hairy eyebrow from our husbands. SteveAnn

Yeah my husband just laughed and rolled his eyes when I gave the plants a soothing pep talk before transplanting--is that a symptom?

Mine just pats me on the head and says "go for it honey". But he's not the one awake at 3 am thinking up ways to keep the rain and humidity from killing them, nor have I seen him tilling, shoveling, raking, all the rest. I make him cook dinner during pumpkin season. pay back baby.

I've got to learn how to hook the tiller up to the tractor. Patch has only been turned. Husband keeps putting it off until we get all the other stuff done. (Vineyard pruned and sprayed, apple trees pruned and sprayed, raspberries and blackberries tied up, blueberries cleaned out and potatoes planted.) He moved my seeds by accident, he promptly found them.

I didn't notice it at all, I'm at war in Aghanistan, not growing anything as of now, and I still have to come here once a day to get my "fix"! wife refers to it as my good clean hobby!

Last time I discussed this with my psychiatrist, he told me to go find a good history book to take my mind off pumpkin growing.
