I'm starting a new patch and am wondering if grass/weed killer such as round up can be safely used this close to planting to kill the grass before tilling everything up.... ??

Plow or till it under as is.... Green cover crops are great for your soil. Cover crops are also called Green Manure. Do a web search

Yes but it will not be fully active until the temperature is about 50 degrees. The plants need to be actively growing for the herbicide to kill the grass.

Thanks guys ... I thought about tilling it up as is but I'm thinking that I will get alot of weeds if I don't get rid of the grass ??? I tried the weed dragon on a section as a test and it burned it down to nothing but a few days later it was growing again lol
