I've been useing the same grow mats for a few years now. Just wondering if anyone has had issues with themgetting older and not pumping enough heat to warm soil up. It appears that most of the heat is in the center and not distributed amongst the entire mat. Thanks for the time. Hope everyone has a great growing season. Let the stress begin...lol

I've had a germ mat do this and so I laid out a single sheet of heavy duty foil on top of the mat the same deminsion and it help to spread the heat out amongst the other pots. I did retire it because I couldn't count on it much after it started doing that. You can test your soil temps with a digital thermometer on the outer cups to be sure. Good luck to you.

I had to replace my old one a few years back. The heating element encapsulated in the plastic breaks and stops working

Yep Pap...I'm back after a nasty winter with so many issues at work as well as personally I'm back. After two years of having monster pumpkins blow up or rot out I'm still comeing back to grow. I'd rather blow up a pumpkin and go down trying then be conservative and not do everything possible to put the weight on. Long season ahead of us. Marching on.
