I wanted to let everyone know as soon as I could that the 179.4 DeBacco ‘14 “Marshmallow” (F: 335 Scherber ’11 x M: 1734.5 Steil) had seeds in it! The seeds are for sale again this year for $30.00 (max 4 seeds) with the money going to a local flower shop that helped make this project possible. Due to the sheer volume of e-mails I have been receiving the flower shop will handle the seed requests directly.

To purchase seeds, please put “Pumpkin Seeds” in the e-mail title and send your name + mailing address + number of seeds requested to UConnBlooms@uconn.edu (you will be contacted with payment options)

I am in contact with the shop’s owner and will be handling the processing and packaging (coding and sealing) but the payment receiving and mailing will be handled by UConn Blooms. Orders will be handled on a first come first serve basis and will be mailed out starting Wednesday April 16th, to allow for seeds to dry and be sent with plenty of time to be planted this year. (I intend on planting one myself.)

George and I finally made it down to U-Conn to see where Matt does his winter projects and we were lucky enough to witness the harvesting of "Marshmallow". Very impressive. Matt deserves all the credit in the world for what he does to advance the genetics of the AG's and all he does to help ALL growers of the AG's. Thanks Matt.
