In general, do the thin white seeds germinate quicker? I have a 1813 and 1674 (both thin and whitish) that germinated in 3 days, and my 1723 (thick brown seed) is doing nothing. I'm debating starting my only other 1723 or just waiting since every day counts to beat the heat. In the end, I plan on only having 1-2 plant either way.

every light color seed I've ever germed has been faster than the dark ones...I have only germed 10 or so but there's my two cents

One of the heavy hitters told me he soaks the white seeds half as long as the dark seeds and the darker seeds take more time to germinate most of the time Luke.

Give that thick brown seed a couple more days:)

Luke , are you using the paper towel approach or directly planting into a peat pot .. in my test germs most brown seeds in the pt method showed a shell crack or tap root in 3 days, after trans plant 2 or 3 days later all popped up nicely.. white seeds were way faster...one of this years particular brown seed has shown nothing .. and probably never will.. nobody has a germination rate of 100%... a 100 percent of the time ..

Thanks all 3 for the input. I am using a small peat pot. I recall myself even posting thick brown ones take longer, but I don't think I have actually grown one at least in the past couple years and wanted to double check. I'll give it a couple more days. Thanks

By this evening the 1723 was swollen enough that I was able to crack the shell and expose the cots. I'm 3 for 3 now with the little ones. Funny how much a days difference is. Thanks again and to my haters... yeah buddy.
