Hi,

This is my first year using companion. I was just wondering, how do you guys apply companion to small sites, say, a soil drench when the plant is in the very early vining stage. Thanks!

Bubba Presley

Muddy Waters

Its similar to Voodoo Juice,I would soil drench the entire root zone,Dont forget the outer root zone to help the new forming roots to benefit from the bacillus.Repeat this every 10 days to 2 weeks.

I mean, how much do you use on a small plant?

I would think somewhere around 1/4 fluid oz. In about 50 square feet, but that is just my guess. I would like your oppinions.

I do two ounces per 8' X 8' circle per 5 gallons of water when plants are small.

2 ounces per gallon is what I apply also. A couple of gallons in the area is what you need.

Sorry, I meant 2 oz per gallon like Chris said. My water can is 2 1/2 gallons and I use 1 oz per 2.5 gallons.

The label tells the strength per gallon for drench....
Use enough water to wet the soil 2-3 ft out from the plant, don't drown it. If you have clay as you have indicated in the past, it may not take as many gallons of water as someone with well draining soil.

Ok, I'm confused ??? What is a 8'x8' circle, and if you use 2 oz in one gal how does that convert to 1oz to 2 one half gal.... lol....:-) just having fun. Keep up the good advice !

lol you are right and I saw that last night after I posted it. To be totally honest,,,,,,,, with the companion I do the " pour " method. In the conversations I've had with the reps and the guys I really believe in,,,,, you really can't put to much. If i had to guess,,,, I may even be putting 5 to 6 ounces per pour, per 5 gallons. I'm not a measuring guy when it comes to companion,,, if that makes sense:)

Here it is, 1 oz in water can shown in the diary post, and around the plant as you can see where the soil is wet.

Watering circle gets expanded as the plant grows outwards.

When the plant covers a size of an 8' x 8' circle, I'll be applying it with my hose end srayer in 20 gallon drenches under the canopy.

I thought that you apply 6 oz. Per 1000 square feet as according to the label? That would equate to about 1/2 oz. In a small drench, but since you guys apply 2 oz. Or so in a small drench, I am just curious, how much do you spply in a whole patch drench? Thanks for the help.
