Hi Ron,I am Stefano from Italy. I have recently taken a 2009 at an auction. Unfortunately the seed which I received is not ok: it looks and "sounds" empty. As I need to plant on April 1st, I urgently need your assistance.
Thank you in advance.
Stefano

i can assure you that ron and i drop test each and every seed before packaging.
id suggest you contact the club you purchased the seed from for a refund if thats the case.
once they leave our hands we have no control over them.

I'm pretty sure most Auctions have a disclaimer stating that there is no guarantee of germination. Usually people buy them at their own risk. However, like Pap says, it won't hurt to contact the club you received it from and ask them.

Hi Pap, thanks a lot for your reply, very kind of you. Before disturbing you on BP, I have of course tried to get assistance from the Club, which unfortunately does not help at all. I am not looking for a refund as offered by the Club,I have paid USD435 for the seed and I want to grow it.
As the club is not helping, could you be so kind to change the seed? Thank you for continuing this conversation by email: info@lezucchedelgallonero.it , if possible for you. Thanks again Stefano.

Dave,
I personally know Stefano and your attempt at humor suggesting that he is trying to scam PAP or Ron is tacky at best.
Stefano co-owns a very prestigious vineyard and winery in Radda In Chianti, in Tuscany and helps produce some of the best Chianti that is imported into the US, he doesn't need to scam anyone, these folks are honest, hard working folks that work their asses off day after day, year after year.
Stefano, non ti preoccupare di questo ignorante che dice stronzate, fai meglio a fare email private con Ron Wallace.

Dave, I know Ron and Dick well enough to know that they do more for this hobby than anyone I know, there is no questioning their integrity, or generosity, that wasn't my point. For you to jump in and make it seem like Stefano is trying to scam a seed from them is wrong, unfortunately, he doesn't speak well enough to defend himself.

i was making a joke, some have no sense of humor.as for the seed simple ,the seed sent from the club, was not the seed sent to the club or its on the recieving growers end.and i dont know who the club was so i have no dog in this fight. wheres columbo when you need him lol

ron took care of the problem so both the buyer is satisfied and the club does not loose auction dollars.
when you get seeds as in demand as the wallace line things do happen with no just reasons??? bottom line is everyone is happy.
also tom and dave both good guys just sticking up for what they believe in. no harm no foul from either.

Sorry, a little off topic here, but pap mentioned drop testing each seed. What exactly does that mean?

When dropping seeds on a hard surface(table/counter top) you can tell by the tone if theyre empty or filled. Once youve heard the "ping" of a empty one and the "thud" of a filled one youll know what people are referring to. Its a legit way to test for hollow seeds.
