So.Cal.Grower, I hear that you had a 4.4 earthquake this morning. Did it help out with your soil loosening strategy in preperation of your pumpkin patch(s)? Maybe it scared off all the critters!

Man Brad,,,,,,, I was running around at work and didn't get the joy of feeling it :( Pretty bummed,,,,,, I love earthquakes!
I've read somewhere that you need a 6.5 or larger for any type of loosening or helping the soil be less compacted:)
There's still time though,,,,, I start a little later then you guys...........

Yeah, don't count on me to wish a big earthquake on you for soil conditioning! You need to be more observant to experience the next one.

We had a 5.7 last year on May 24 and I had my worst growing year ever.
At least I have something to blame it on.
