Can you say weird winter???? This whole week it is low 90's at my house in January. 30's at night, that's a 60 degree change everyday. 16% humidity, no rain in last month, no rain in sight for long range. WE might be in severe water restrictions if things don't change for califirnia.

2011 we had a mild winter and then went into a drought. 2012 was the worst drought in almost a century. I think we had over 15 days in July over 105. Ship wrecks from the 1800's were making their first appearance in 100 years on the Mississippi River by my house since it was so low. Our 90 year old house foundation cracked at one point in the basement from settling... 90 years for it to get that dry and shift. Hope you aren't headed for a summer like that.

Normal winter here. Snow, ice,a polar vortex and a couple Alberta clippers, a couple days near 40, then more cold and snow. I hop you get some rain out west.

On a positive note, remember how bad last winter was for the guys up North getting such late starts? I recall some of them still had a foot of snow on the ground when it was time to germinate seeds, and look how good the year turned out. Never know.

Yes, odd winter. We in the east bay hills are under extreme fire warning with windy conditions and low humidity... In January! What's next?

Nor-Cal;
We have a new fire Season added besides the summer one
the " winter fire season " fires all over the place.
I might have to find a special pumpkin seed that doesn't use hardly any water but will grow over a 1000lbs

It was 20 below zero here two weeks ago and within 3 days it was 60 degrees and raining then back down to frigid. It's been highs near 50 for the last few days with a gradual trending back towards the 30's. They're saying it could get arctic by next weekend. The ground was frozen solid and now it's thawed and everything is a mud pit...and it keeps raining.

Wish it would just got back to 5 degrees... we need to kill off the tick population.

I was telling Chris earlier today that I was watching horse racing from Santa Anita today and they showed the massive fire that was 15 miles away from the track!! It looked huge and was nearing homes...they called out the water bombers...hopefully all is OK now.
