THE 2014 GPC BIG SHOW in ORLANDO FLORIDA

February 21-22, 2014
FRIDAY
11am – Noon: Room open for registration.
Noon – 1:45pm: Pumpkins 101 - Hosted by Andy Wolf with guest panel
featuring Tim Mathison, Beni Meier, Bill& Dawn Northrup.
Break
2pm – ?: GPC year in review – Treasurer report, Secretary report, State of the
GPC report, then GPC lounge open floor discussion – if you want to talk about
it, question the committee, have ideas, or want to tell us how your day is going.
6pm – Midnight: Networking, snacks and beer!

SATURDAY AGENDA
8am – 9am Registration open
Russ Landry – “Building a better AG” – Russ speaks on the cutting edge science
behind developing a “stronger sink” and delaying fruit ripening.
Tim Mathison – Growing the World Record (and a couple 1800s)
Beni Meier – On growing his 2328 pound pumpkin.
Noon – 1pm: Lunch Break
Russ Landry – “Quest for the 8 Pound Tomato” – Russ speaks about what it will
take to break this elusive barrier, from growth patterns to promoting fused
blossoms, reducing plant stress and keeping the mater plant healthy.
Glenn & Margaret Martin – “Growing for the Master Gardener” – On
growing in ALL the categories, and doing it well.
RTI product Update
5:30 – Room open for Happy Hour
6pm – 7pm: Dinner
Bill & Dawn Northrup – NYC adventure – Presentation on the big trip.
7pm – 9pm Awards Show
We will have a less specific agenda & have more time for Q & A
immediately after each presenter is finished. Breaks will be timed as
needed.
AWARDS SHOW & DINNER
The awards dinner & show are a semi-formal event. The GPC asks that at a bare minimum
please wear a collared shirt, slacks, jeans are OK but they must not be faded or have holes in
them. No baseball caps, bib overalls, tennis shoes (running shoes) are permitted please
remember we are honoring our champions & HOF inductee please dress accordingly. No
one will be turned away for not following dress code.
Cash Bar
Beer: Bud Light, Miller Lite, Corona, Heineken
Wine: House Chardonnay, House Merlot, House Cabernet Sauvignon, House Zinfandel
Liquor: Svedka, Jim Beam, Canadian Club, Johnny Walker Black, Chervo, Bacardi and
Beefeater.
