The site is much more pleasant when you put implement the ignore function for certain people. I use BP to communicate with other growers; through this communication I have become a better grower over the years both pumpkin and garden. I respect those people like the Wallace's who have made great accomplishments in this field or sport. Even more I appreciate those growers who share their knowledge, seeds and yes, secrets with all of us. I take exception when they are verbally attacked by someone who has made no contribution other than disruption, bad manners, overall poor conduct. I for one have had enough of this person.

Nicely said GriZ......The great thing about Ken's ingnore feature iZ that it WILL IGNORE ALL his psuedo names when IT posts. It feedZ off of attention and itZ desire to Steal away from our what our league of extraordinary growers have achieved and claim for his own..I have tracked IT'z madness and insanity across the interweb like a virus..other siteZ... same same....very sad...I have a feeling that sooner for "IT" iZ coming rather than later...hang in there....GrowZ'em BIG

I recently added to my ignore list, and all of these threads instantly got shorter and more pleasant to read. Seriously, everyone should do it.

But Don raises a valid point... If you're a heavy hitter, it's natural to wonder "what some idiot is saying behind my back if I ignore him". I think we need the ignore function but it would also be proper and appropriate for a forum moderator to take more direct action. Without moderation, the discussions could die.

I have never accepted the notion that the best growers stay away from this site because of the rantings of a few twits. Many of the California growers, for example, never come to this site, that's cool. Many HH like RW, JJ, JP and AE seldom post regardless, not because of one person. Thankfully, many of the best growers do post regularly. Just don't comment or answer the fools, that's what they want. Every time this person changes his screen name, go to the ignore function and enter that name, how hard is that.

I learned my lesson about being nice to someone who just wants to run everyone else down. I may read the drivel but won't let it bother me or respond to it from now on. But it won't affect how I answer to other serious, polite growers on the message boards.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I would just add that we should stop responding to those ridiculous posts (even with humorous retorts) - they just seem to encourage him. A good old fashion Amish style shunning may be the best answer.

Once again, I get stuck in the middle. I have way too many emails lately. Some say bounce him, some say don't bounce him. You all have built a great community here over the years. Don't let the comments of one or two people ruin it for you. Just ignore them.

I just did it and the message boards are so much better and not full of things I don't even know what he is trying to say!

I agree Shew, I'm right up the road from Lancaster. Perhaps I should contact Amish Aid, so that Lebanon Levi and Jolin can tear down some chicken coops, or that little guy can bust up a stock pile of milk jugs with a louisville slugger :~D

No need for willpower, restraint, Amish techniques... just take 30 seconds to use the ignore function. If that guy is still posting, I don't see it. Problem solved.

Exactly Cliff, I see postings and wonder what the heck is being talked about...and then realize that there are postings from a certain individual, that I do not see.

Sure saves all this aggravation that has been building on here for the past few months...all due to one person...shame!!

If I remember right someone use to say: The ignore idea just won't work. But I know what does. ;)
