If we don't get any rain soon,it might get rough growing
pumpkins; a lot of ponds are dry and wells going low to dry.
Last time we had this water shortage the city ask you not
to flush the toilet, only if you have to? We need Rain.

a couple of desalination plants on the coast wouldnt hurt. If the government would put some up we would have access to the largest water sorce in the world, the ocean.

You can have the 4 inches of ice we have on the ground in NW Vermont. More is forecast for the future.

Average mountain snowpack this year so far between 37 to 48" in the mountains ,yet our valley is bone dry. They call this valley the banana belt of Montana.

Yes Old Rookie, this is worrysom. Our snowpack is slim & our northern reservoirs are at 20% of capacity. I understand that the southern reservoirs are at 40% to 50% of capacity. I have no good comment about the Ca. Aqueduct and our governer's idea of the delta tunnels!
We could all fair better with lots of rain to make up our shortages, except maybe our friends who live in the delta region. Their fate is inevitable, and I hope that we can safe up the levee system long before the need arises.
Ashton, the idea if desalination plants is a great idea that could very well could come to solve our water needs and save our inland aquatic environments. My hats off to you!

Yes,,,,, its very bad down here too:( Last year was the same. My winter water bill was just about the same as the summer growing months. Our local mountains have " ZERO " snow pack?????:(

All we can hope for is a solid 3 months of rain from here on out,,,,,,,,,,, if not,,,,,,,,,, going to be tough! My town will not let you water but two days a week in the summer when we get into a serious drought,,,,,,,,,,, that will not cut it with pumpkin growing.
