At -15 this ought to deter some of them bad bugZ...all across the US... Tabernash Colorado- -39 this AM... Hasnt been this froZe here since 1972 so we ought to see a curb in the Sbug population... Ah too bad...

14 below here this am.I havent seen a squash bug for a couple years as the city sprays for biteing insects 4-6 time during spring and summer.

I did not have a squash bug or Cucumber Beatle this past year, not one. It must have had something to do with the long cold spring with many frosts. Aphids sure showed up though!

We had few bugs last season, no snow on the ground and a Saturday morning forecast of 0. Hopefully that will wipe out the remaining bugs. The bad thing is that it is opening day of our shotgun deer season. I'm glad I got my blind set up to keep me warm.

Just a few in my old patches but my new patches that had been under till for corn and beans for the last 50 years were just thick with them. I'm not so sure cold weather kills the adults or we wouldn't have any around here. Hopefully I will have to eat those words next year. Wiz have a great 2014.
