I just looked up the seeding rate of mighty mustard and it says 15-20 lbs per acre. This seems low to me but then again I've never grown mustard before. Thanks for the help!

You don't want to use mustard as a cover crop unless you are trying to kill all of the organisms in your patch.

That's exactly what I was taught Russ, don't do it unless your sure you have heavy disease pressure Ash.

I put 2 oz in 600 square feet and that produced a very thick stand-its all about getting it down even

I just wanted to clense my soil. I've had some fungis on my soil this year and I've been using this patch for nearly 3 years. The plan is to get all of thebenificials into the soil after the mustard has finished fumigating. Thanks for the help!

You need a good crop of it Pg3. Meaning you need to let it get high, then mow it down as this chops it up. Then right away, you need to work it deep into your soil. Being so late in the year, Myself I don't see were it would get high enough to do much good this time of year.

Our low temps never get much lower than 35f in the winter. Will it grow in those temps? Thanks!

lots to learn but what the hell? winter is not the time to grow mustard --- unless of course you live in an area where winter temps dont go much below 50 or so degrees (at night) and sunny and warm (sixties or better)in the day time.
pumpkinbrat knows what hes talking about.
best to keep the winter rye and vetch down and just hope that will grow to spring.
