With some big weigh-offs left, perhaps this is a post best suited for winter conversation, but it's worth debate. Recently I have read that the addition of humates can restrict a plants ability to absorb systemic fungicide/pesticide applications. Reasoning: Humic acid has the ability to absorb and withhold surface applications from the roots. Now, this study was based off turf-grass trials, but for the amount that some of us spend on chemical products it does raise some concern. Humic acid has been part of my patch prep for 4 years, does anyone have any input?
