I was wondering if there still might be a rumor of a hidden pumpkin out there that might crush the record?

So.Cal., Patchmaster's word is gold. You saw the lineup of the top 10 from Elk Grove. At that event these Growers were just clearing the smaller pumpkins from their patches so that they could get to the bigger ones! The Usugi and Half Moon Bay events will be very exciting. The question is, How many times will the Ca. State record be broken before this season is over?

No insider info here but I think the world record will fall at Half Moon Bay.

I discussed this weighty matter with CowPie McFly and he declared "Don't get a knot in your panties - the largest pumpkin has yet to be weighed in California!"

I guess the prize money is larger at Usugi so I will switch my prediction to there.

The correct spelling is Uesugi farm's pumpkin patch. Run by Pete & Wendy Aiello. Two of the nicest people in the world and they put up all the prize money themselves. A new world record will pay $30,000.00

If anyone has something special out there, and the plant is still disease free with a few good growing tips, shoot me an email. I have gathered clone material in past years via overnight mail with 50-60% success rate. So 3-4 vine tips from a good plant makes me pretty confident I can get one to survive. Email me if you have something worth keeping going over the winter, and I will give instructions.

master p hits the nail on the head. the 2009 will in my opinion re-write the record books for giant pumpkins. but????????lets give some major credit to the growers knowledge and a season of good growing conditions in many locations. it all goes hand in hand. looking forward to the remaining weigh-off results pap
