Since it's so quiet and nearly rumor free around here this fall I'd like to try a new contest.

The big weigh-offs start today (big is my opionion). I'm going to call it the big 10. I generally call it the big 7, but we'll do 10 to include a few more and make it sound better.

So here's the contest. Guess the AVERAGE WINNING WEIGHT from the 10 contests listed below. I will come up with a decent prize...like maybe a seed from the top pumpkin or top few pumpkins in Stillwater, MN.

I'm choosing these 10 contests based on personal opionion as well as their performance on TTA. I'm sorry if I didn't include your personal favorite. Entry deadline is Monday 10-7. Yes I understand several sites weigh before that.

Thnaks Chris, this is a fun idea. I hope everybody gets too and from their events safe and sound this weekend.

Too bad Anamosa wasn't on the list, that would have really made the guesses crazy!

Because I'm hoping for the best for everyone - and because of lot of the lower numbers are already taken - I'll go with an outragously optimistic 1870.

Hopefully you or Mr Hopkins or another one of our fine growers from WI will break the state record today at Nekoosa and we'll be on they way!
