Due to the flood one of my patches the soil is gone. Yep washed away. I have to rebuild the soil from scatch. So here is my idea for that patch. Bringing in as much compost as I can get.
I know someof you have had your fields flooded in the past and I was wondering if you could give me advice. You can either do it here or at my email addy. coloradopolarbear@hotmail.com

I guess if I was starting over this time of year I would have a nice mixture of Top Soil, Compost, Leaves and sand. Mix together well and plant a cover crop. My end goal would be a soil that drains well but doesn't leach. No matter how much it rains now, I can still get in my patch after the rain. Not saying my soil is great but I have worked hard over the last three years to make it better.

60:40 topsoil:compost (make at least some of the compost is dairy compost to get N up), and a ton of leaves in the fall. not sure you'll need any sand initially. followed by heavy application of myco and winter rye.
then come spring, a new misting set-up and elaborate greenhouse to crush scherbers new record, lol.
