I've been growing prizewinners and AG's close together for years and think there have been a few conjugal visits. One of my plants produced large round salmon colored kins and the other nice orange long kins that are cantaloped all over. The largest OTT of each were 85 1/4-52-54 3/4 and the other 90 1/2-50 3/4-57.How are the rest of you prizewinner people doing?

The pollinator does not affect the fruit only the offspring

I am definitely planting them again next year!!! I have dedicated a whole new patch of ground for just them as I have sold every single one I had. I got one from a farmer friend last year and saved the seeds. What grew this year was a normal looking prize winner, my biggest was 156 pounds, they averaged 88 pounds. They were all a deep orange and perfectly round, no cantalouping on them. I pollinated the plants this year: carnival is now crossed with an AG, Mr. Orange is 100% himself, and surprise is crossed with carnival. So the crosses I have to grow next year are: Carnival (PW) x AG (The Egg) Mr. Orange (PW)x himself Surprise (PW) x Carnival (PW) I am most hopeful for the carnival/surprise cross as both plants were extremely strong in wet humid conditions, and both plants grew large fruits. carnival was a prettier orange and shapey, but surprise was ridiculously large.

Gladly Kolache. you can email me at; leisha@infinitilogistics.com Carnival was gorgeous, I was kinda sad to see her go, but the gentleman who has her is sending me back her seeds when he carves her. The guy who got Mr orange is sending his back too, if you want some of those you can have them too, he was a deep red orange.
