hi everyone i have posted this in my diary but i know not many people have reason to read it so here goes
we went to local agricultural fair today took three marrow and got first second and third 77 lb 86 lb and 99 lb so close to the 100# but not to worry it’s a new pb for me beating my old best by 5 lb also got heaviest mater only 2 lb third place plate of cherry tomatoes black cherry ( thanks sue for the seed ) second place ugliest fruit or veg a small mega bloom tomato of Joe mentings 5.03 seed thanks Joe I knew i could count on you to get in the prize money lol
I also took my 700# est pumpkin and won biggest pumpkin with a girth of 145.5 inches I know this is a small kin by most people’s standards but here in uk hardly anyone has seen a heavy kin and I’m not joking in saying this I was real proud to so many people of all ages touching and feeling and asking me and my wife questions about it and if I had a penny for every photo taken of it I would have been a rich man I even had a 80 year old potato farmer come to me and say son in all my farming days I have never seen anything so impressive well done and he patted me on the back made me proud to be a member of this community so thank you everyone who has helped me or donated me seeds regards Mal

Good on you mate!
I know how you feel, last weekend was our local little farmers fall fair and I took my (little) 650 and 550 in. A thousand kids got their photos taken on it, including my grand kids. Makes all that work worthwhile.

thank you all very much for the kind words i am really glad i took the kin i know when it comes to winning the majority of us wont get placed but i guess if you manage to get a fruit to the end of the season your a winner anyhow in my eyes
if you dont get the chance to go to a dedicated weighoff all i can say is take it along to a local event and i bet you come home feeling great watching all those kids go saucer eyed when they see it good luck every one regards mal
