Thank-you for an excellent day of patch tours yesterday. What a job! Despite an obviously wet and cold growing season.
Al Gibson- Who would ever believe you can grow banana trees in Ohio! That stop was amazing. Climate change here we come!
PS- I always look forward to seeing you and the Ohio folks.
Tim Parks thanks for your service moderating site discussions!
Seriously... Your tour was well organized.. informative..and the picnic meal was a great time to meet fellow growers.
Andy Wolf- Thank-you for driving us around- Great job from the "WNY 4" who went on the tours!

Four patches...all different...all beautiful and well groomed. Jerry Rose, Frank Lanterman and Chuck Meier are mainstays of our club. We always learn a lot from them.

The newcomer was Vince Cappitte. Everyone was amazed by his one plant pumpkin patch, in his small back yard. He had the banana trees, and other fabulous plantings in the front yard, and all around what was left of the back yard.
The amount of dedication was apparent everywhere you looked, from the functional things like a perfectly groomed plant, water-holding tanks, huge canisters for compost tea, fertilizers, & insect & disease control, remote controlled sprinklers & misting system to all the beautiful finishing touches of limestone pathways, flowers and accent lighting. Vince, you have done a magnificient job. Best of luck with your great looking pumpkin.

Thanks to all four guys for their hospitality, and to the organizers of the event.
