Well today has been quite the work day. I woke up this morning and walked out to the patch. I opened up the door panel flap and noticed something. I noticed that there was a heck lot more light coming into the hoop house with the flap open (you can see the sun shadow) than when it is closed! There is full sunshine on the patch at this time. I came to conclusion that the green plastic on this hoop house is providing a SIGNIFICANT amount of shade to the inside of the hoop house! There's still light coming in but look at that difference! It's a bit over dramatic in the picture but there's a huge difference. I haven't had a secondary problem like this when I was using the same hoop house last year but last year we had much more sunnier days in May! I believe that the lack of light inside the hoop house is part of the problem with my stunted and non growing secondary's that I've had a big problem with on the plants I pulled last week. I don't believe it's 100% the cause but 60% or more potentially! (See next post)
